Burlington Public Library

Burlington Public Library members can borrow digital magazines from the Burlington Public Library Overdrive collection. Digital magazines are not available to borrow from our Overdrive partner libraries (Hamilton Public Library or Mississauga Library System).

Access digital magazines on a desktop computer via BPL's website

• From the BPL website, click on Resources. Select Overdrive. (https://burlingtonpl.overdrive.com/)
• Select Magazines from the categories noted at the top of the webpage.
• Choose a magazine from the collection. Click on borrow.
• Select your library (select BPL) and enter your library card number and 4-digit PIN to sign in.
• Select the borrowing period for the magazine: 7, 14 or 21 days. Click Borrow.
• Click on Read Now in Browser. 
• The magazine will remain available in your account for the selected loan period.
• To access the magazine later, sign into your account on the Overdrive site. Click on My Account and then Loans. Click on the magazine and continue reading in your browser.

Access digital magazines on your mobile device via the Libby app 

• Tap on the Libby app. At the bottom of the page, click on the icon on the left of the Libby icon to go to BPL's Overdrive library site.
• On the page, you will see Magazine, with a guide written on the right. Select this to view a selection of BPL's top 60+ magazines. Optionally, scroll down the page to find Burlington Public Library's full collection of Digital Magazines to view a listing of 3,000+ magazines.
• Click on any magazine image.
• On the next page, you have the option to borrow the magazine or scroll down the page to borrow a backdated issue of the magazine.  
• Borrowed titles will display on your shelf under Loans and you will have access to the copy for the loan period unless you choose to return it earlier.
